Six Stages to a Meaningful Journey
Throughout the caregiving journey, which can last from six months to more than 10 years, the role of family caregivers evolves--and so should the services and the support they receive. The Caregiving Years describes the path that caregivers of aging relatives take--from worrying, to helping, to providing full-fledged hands-on care to transitioning out of the role. Most important, the stages--and their related Stumbles and Steadies--provide a map for family caregivers to navigate successfully through the caregiving journey.
Just starting your journey? We'll get you on the right path and help you prepare for your future. In the midst of your journey? We'll show you where you've been, so you can understand where you are and help you prepare for your future. Ending your journey? We'll help you gain perspective on your journey while preparing you for the next phase of your life.
We'll cover two stages each week. Be sure to read The Caregiving Years. Presenter: Denise Brown, Publisher and Editor, Caregiving.com A three-week course, one hour per week. Cost is $30 (plus the cost of long-distance phone calls) for all three classes.
